Those crips isolations, those sharp hip articulations, the focus of moving your hips to the rhythm while your upper body gracefully acknowledges melodies and
ethereal passages. You can achieve them through isolations techniques and foundation exercises! We'll present a batch of straightforward technique
focused exercises sure to sharpen your skills, then mess with your head for some seriously challenging layers. We have some neeeeewwwww ones for yaaaaa!
Add in a Zil Drill (bring your aspirin) with some exciting techniques and combinations. (These ain't your momma's finger cymbal combinations!)
Friday, August 3 (Studio) –PRIVATE LESSONS - $60/hr
Semi Privates also available - $20 each additional student up to 6; 7 and over $175/hr.

More than just "here's a step, and here's a step". We'll get on the same wavelength with a few textures, organize them into expressions, then start getting into feel, and passion, and pull, and drama and all the deliciousness that makes this dance more yummy than just going thru the motions. We will stick to Egyptian style for this one, but will happily nod to variations for Tribal, AmCab, Lebanese, Greek, etc.

Advanced technique and combinations – will NOT slow down for foundation concepts! Subject will be Raks Sharki in Jim's style - combination and/or
choreography - JIM'S WHIM. It will be whatever Jim happens to be working on at the time. Subject matter will be fluid, covering topics and concepts important
to Advanced students and professionals. We will cover a few combinations in a few styles, drilling the different levels of focus of the combination beyond
the mere step. The steps will be mind bending enough...trust me.

Okay, you know some moves - you know a few combos - you have a song you like. Now what?!? How do you put it together so they remember more than your shoes, your costume, your hair or your smile! We will cover phrasing, energy transfer, stage dynamics, texture sequencing/morphing, entrances and a grab bag o'tidbits that will help evolve your dance into a performance
Sunday 6:00-8:30pm – Funky Fusion! (All Levels Welcome)

Hip Hop, Jazz, wild staging and more! Do you ride the fence between Middle Eastern Dance, American interpretive, ATS and funky funky Tribal/Fusion?
You'll get a serious kick out of this one. Oh heck, don't even want to do that stuff? I'll let you in on a little secret: technique is technique - it's the
expression that changes the label. heh heh heh SO - we will re-cover some of the techniques from our drills applicable to a few funky combos, and then
expand on their expression. Take the same techniques and apply them to Egyptian (oh wait, you probably did back in January!), then we'll show them in
context of a Tribal/Fusion combination. But the mind bend doesn't stop there - the same combinations make *excellent* accents & embellishments for phrases and exciting combos for Drum solos! (Ooooh, and we'll do them all! Muah hahahahahha)
